Call for Photos
As you know, I want this blog to be a place where you can come for ideas and inspiration. And while I find words very inspiring, sometimes you need to see a photo! So I'm putting out a call for photos of any Uppercase Living products you've used in your home or for projects. And just to make it worth your while, anyone who submits a picture that gets displayed here will get to choose a 5" monogram on me. Send your pictures to torreh@gmail.com. I can't wait to see all the creative ways you've been using Uppercase Living!

Quick and Cute Halloween Project
Sometimes my customers worry about buying Uppercase Living expressions for holiday decor. They hesitate to put something seasonal on the wall, not wanting to invest in something only to dispose of it after a few weeks.
I can completely see their point. While there are some instances that an expression might be the perfect temporary accent for a space, most often, we fall in love with our projects and want to use them year after year. Here's a perfect example of a Halloween project you'll love to use in your decor for many years to come.
Ingredients:
*Square UL MDF Board
*UL Toolbox Paint in Terra Cotta and Lemon Chiffon
*Halloween Expression 16570 in Matte Black
*UL Vinyl Effects solution
*UL Easel (easel shown is not from UL)
Sandpaper
Instructions:
1. Paint top half of board in Lemon Chiffon, leaving a 1.5" border on top and sides and about 4-5" on bottom. This will vary based on where you position your expression on your board. It might be a good idea to check and mark your board without removing the backing paper from your expression.
2. Paint remainder of board in Terra Cotta. If desired, sand edges of board for a more distressed look.
3. After paint has dried, apply UL expression using enclosed instructions. Remove and discard transfer paper.
4. To achieve a glossy, dimensional look, carefully apply Vinyl Effects solution to letters or any other portion of the expression you'd like to highlight. Let dry completely and enjoy!
Would you like to recreate this project? Order the entire kit (board, expression, 2 tubes of paint, easel and Vinyl Effects) from me from now until September 29th and save $5 off your purchase. I'll even throw in the sandpaper. Discount is not available on website purchases so please place your order directly with me.
Don't forget my Open House this Saturday. Scroll down to the previous post for the details. Leave me a comment to RSVP.

Great News for Hostesses
Here's another reason to host an Uppercase Living home party in the next few weeks: Uppercase Living has just announced a Hostess Bump Up promotion! This means that whatever level your show sales and Double Up Rewards reach, you'll get bumped up to next level of Hostess Rewards. Same party, more free and half-price items for you. What's more, your guests will go nuts for the holiday catalog and Photo Prints.
What's the catch? This promotion ends October 15th, which means your show must be closed by then. This is still plenty of time to take advantage of this great promo, so give me a call or send me an email if you'd like to get on my schedule. Come on, you know you want to...

September Customer Newsletter
I hope you're enjoying the last days of summer. We're slowly getting into the back to school schedule at my house. That includes my youngest starting preschool for the first time while my older son adjusts to the longer days of first grade. As much as I hate to rush the end of summer, there's no doubt that the fun and busy days of falls are not too far away. This year, fall promises to be a little more fun and festive because of so much news from Uppercase Living. But before I get to that, there are still some end-of-summer deals to take advantage of. Keep reading for all the info and a great sneak peek!

Get Ready for Photo Prints
I've been keeping a secret since I got back from our convention at the end of July. While there, we learned about what I believe is the most exciting product from Uppercase Living yet and definitely the one that will truly personalize your space unlike anything else. Now, I can share my excitement with all of you as I tell you about Uppercase Living Photo Prints. You can now upload any high resolution photo to my website and get it enlarged and printed on removable, reusable, adhesive vinyl in sizes ranging from 2x2 to 8x4 FEET! There are so many possibilities for this great product: from weddings and anniversaries, to sports photos, family portraits, baby pictures, business logos or even a scenic shot from your favorite vacation; your photos can now become life-size artwork for your home. What better way to showcase products in a business? Or personalize an office or cubicle? We can even create photo prints from your business logo!
Click on the following link for more information on this amazing product: http://uppercaseliving.com/downloads/PhotoPrints_09.pdf . There is also some info in the holiday catalog. I'll post more details on my blog and there's sure to be some on my website too. Photo Prints will become available September 15th. I would love to hear how you will use them, so share your great ideas.
Annual Fall Open House
You're all invited to my annual Open House on Saturday September 26th. View the catalog and samples of our new products, see the project night samples, check out the new accessories and colors, and see a mini Photo Print for yourself. Of course, there will be prize drawings and snacks. Watch your email and my blog for more details to come.
My fall project night is tentatively scheduled for October 18th, so you'll have your projects to take home well before Halloween. I'll hold another one in early December for Christmas and Hannukah gifts and decor.
With so much going on from Uppercase Living, my schedule for the next several months looks to fill up quickly. In addition to the fall kick-off Open House at my home, I'll be holding two project nights and will also be busy with all of your parties. If you'd like to be a hostess and earn some FREE and HALF-PRICE products, I'd love to get your preferred date on your calendar and share all of our exciting products with your friends in time for the holiday gift-giving season. Let me know when you'd like to have your own home show.
Belated Birthday Wishes
Last month, I was so excited to share all the news about our new catalog, colors, MyDesign Suite, and everything else that I forgot to include birthday wishes for all of you with August birthdays. So this month, I'd like to say Happy Birthday to Marisa, Laurie, Erika, Leah, Lauren, Joyce, Jodi, Sarah, and both Wendy G.'s! My gift to each of you is 10% off any item.

Ideas for September Hostesses
Each month, UL customers and hostesses earn free products with their qualifying orders. Many of my hostesses having a hard time choosing their free expressions(s). Hopefully the ideas here will help you visualize what those expressions really look like and help you have an easier time making your choice when it's your turn.
The Spooktacular expression is available for both hostesses and customers. I love how it dresses up our new pre-drilled MDF board. I can just see some spooky spider webs or some gauze the Mummy left behind hanging from the hooks.
The "Just Treats" expression is pictured here in Sugared Plum on the Scalloped Charger. Use this to serve up your favorite Halloween goodies.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, this expression is shown in Bright White and Fairytale Pink. However, by changing the color of the "hope" portion of the expression, you can choose a cause that is meaningful to you. View this page to learn what each color ribbon symbolizes.
To create this project, apply the expression to the insert of our new square Frameworks. I prefer to use Mistick when working with Frameworks. Apply 3 UL Blooms in White/Honey Wheat to the frame itself.
Pumpkin Patch
The pumpkin on this charming expression reminds me of the one that turned into Cinderella's coach. This versatile expression can be used throughout October and November.
Here it is applied to our new square charger. Ribbon has been glued to the back of the charger and the whole thing hangs from a UL Medallion. The color is Terra Cotta but you can go a little bit brighter with Valencia Orange.
Spooktacular
The Spooktacular expression is available for both hostesses and customers. I love how it dresses up our new pre-drilled MDF board. I can just see some spooky spider webs or some gauze the Mummy left behind hanging from the hooks.
The board is first painted with our Toolbox Paint before the expression, shown here in Lemon Chiffon, is applied. The cool spider web effect is easily created with our new Vinyl Effects product. You will love using Vinyl Effects to add a new dimension to your vinyl projects. For more detailed instructions, just leave me a comment and let me know you'd like them.
These are just 4 of the 6 seasonal expressions available to our hostesses this month (all customers get to choose from 3). You can view them all on this page of my website by clicking on the September Hostess and Customer Gifts link. Hopefully the photos here have given you some ideas of how you'll use your free UL expressions in your home this fall.
